Course Description
“Come in with a mock-up… leave with a pattern that fits!”
Join us for TEAM TOILE with Lorenza, a unique one-day workshop focused on fitting and perfecting your garments. Participants will bring in a mock-up or toile made from calico or a fabric similar to the intended final garment. Ideal for tops, dresses, and pants (woven only), each participant will work to refine their fit under the expert guidance of TPMC, Lorenza and fellow sewers.
Course Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Assess Fit Issues: Learn to identify and assess fit issues on their toile stage
- Understand Pattern Adjustments: Gain insights on how to modify patterns based on individual fitting challenges.
- Sewing Techniques: Reconstruct the toile with fit adjustments, ensuring improved fit and comfort.
- Spot Fit Problems: Develop the ability to spot common fit issues on various garments through peer observation and instructor guidance.

- Fabric and trims recommendations, including fusing and any other sewing magic tips.
Course Structure
- Morning Session (10:00 AM - 12:30 PM): Each participant will work with the team and Lorenza will assess the fit issues while marking the necessary adjustments with you.
- Afternoon Session (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM): Participants will modify their patterns based on the assessment and if time permits, sewing their adjusted toiles to achieve a better fit.

- Pattern making paper, cutting tables and rulers
- A supportive sewing environment with ample space to work.
- Light refreshments.
What to Bring
- Your pre sewn toile (REMEMBER woven only)
- Pins
- Paper and fabric scissors
- Calio/fabric if you’d like to sew a new toile after making your adjustments
- You are welcome to being your own domestic machine if preferred.

This course is designed for intermediate sewists looking to enhance their fitting skills and create garments that fit perfectly.
