  1. Sewing Machine Basics:
    • Understanding the components of a sewing machine, threading techniques, and machine maintenance.
    • Machine Threading: Detailed instruction on how to properly thread the sewing machine.
    • Needles and Their Uses: Overview of different types of sewing needles and their specific applications.
    • Types of Threads: Discussion on various thread types and their suitable uses.
    • Bobbin Theory: Understanding how the bobbin functions and how to wind and insert it.
    • How to Adjust Machine Speed: Techniques for controlling machine speed for different sewing tasks.
    • Tension- how to change machine stitching.
    • Grainlines- what are they and what makes them important?
  2. Basic Sewing Techniques:
    • Introduction to essential sewing techniques
    • Sewing Practice:
      • Create a loop in calico and practice continual straight lines.
      • Experiment with sewing zig-zag stitches.
      • Learn how to correctly to sew circles and curved lines.
      • learn essential sewing finishes such as Top stitching and back stitching.
  3. Sampler Techniques:
    • Overlock and Press Open: Mastery of overlocking seams.
    • Overlock and Press Closed: Techniques for finishing raw edges.
  4. Fabric Selection:
    • Overview of different types of fabrics and how to choose the right one for various projects, sewing needle selection.
  5. Pattern Usage:
    • How to read and use sewing patterns effectively.
