Sewing Techniques: Building on the Basics

🧷 Course Description This course is designed for those who have acquired the basics of sewing and are ready to take their skills to the next level. Building on the foundational techniques learned in the introductory class, participants will explore more advanced yet accessible sewing projects.

🎯 Course Objectives By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

1. Advanced Machine Mastery:

   • Deepen understanding of the sewing machine's capabilities, including the usage of different stitches and attachments.
     

2. Fabric Manipulation Techniques:

   • Experiment with pleats, gathers, and bias binding for added detail in projects.
     

3. Project-Based Learning:

   • Complete  project(s) that incorporate more advanced techniques, including:

     • Completing pre cut samplers in class time such as:
     • Darts, bust, waist and side bodice- correct approach & finishing 
     • The mitred corner 

4. Sewing Techniques for Finishing:

   • • Learn about different seam finishes such as french & capped seams, hem types, finishing ends properly and bagging out belts & belt loops.
     • Learn elevated stitch techniques such as top stitching, ease and backstitching

• Bring your own machine or use ours
  
• Scissors, pins, and fabric marking tools
• Any additional personal sewing supplies
