Overview
In this hands-on intensive participants will explore the art of corsetry across three sessions, drafting patterns and working through construction samplers for a range of corset styles - standalone, floating, and internal designs.
The workshop is taught by esteemed couture artisan Nasia, renowned for her mastery in this field. Participants will create a pattern while discovering multiple finishing techniques and application samplers, developing the knowledge and skills to design and construct beautiful, functional couture corsets.
What you will learn

Corsetry Foundations
- Foundational knowledge of corset construction techniques and terminology
- Introduction to material selection, boning, and lacing for corsetry
Pattern Drafting
- How to draft a basic corset pattern adaptable to different designs and body types
- Understanding how pattern variations affect fit and structure
Corset Styles & Construction
- Standalone corset construction and design
- Floating corset techniques and pattern application
- Internal corset construction and integration into garments
Finishing Techniques
- A range of finishing methods and application samplers to enhance fit and aesthetics
- Hands-on experience fitting and adjusting corsets for different body types
Each session builds on the last.
- Session 1 (11th June) covers an introduction to corsetry and drafting the basic pattern, with a focus on standalone designs.
- Session 2 (18th June) moves into floating corsets and finishing techniques.
- Session 3 (25th June) covers internal corsets and application samplers, with hands-on fitting and adjustment practice.
