- Skill level- a knowledge of garment construction.
Course Content:
In this workshop, you will learn:
- How to draft tailored collars and lapels: Explore multiple
- Identification and construction of key components: Break line, jet pocket, back vent, facings, and internal pockets.
- Correct drafting techniques of a tailored jacket lining and talks on how this in applied
- Creating a two-piece sleeve, shoulder pads, easing, and sleeve heading.
- Overview of fusing: Types, usage, and application to garments.
- Industry tips and secrets on achieving a great jacket fit and shape using the tailored jacket block.
Learning Methodology: You will engage in various drafting and pattern-making techniques based on industry-standard blocks, demonstrated through pattern exercises, sewing samplers, and calico toiles.
Workshop Materials Provided:
- 👔 Tailored jacket block (Male, Female, Gender Neutral)
- 📏 Pattern making paper and rulers for all class exercises
- 📚 Fully constructed jacket samples to illustrate the entire process, alongside small samplers tackling jet pockets, shoulder pads, sleeve headings, back vents, and linings.
