Explore three approaches to corset pattern making
Across three evening sessions, tutor Nasia will introduce three distinct approaches to corsetry: standalone, floating and internal corsets.
Each offers different possibilities for costume design.
A standalone corset can become a feature of the finished costume, while an internal corset can provide hidden support and structure beneath an outer garment. Floating corsets offer another way to incorporate shaping and support within a more complex garment design.
Rather than focusing on sewing a finished corset during the workshop, the emphasis is on pattern making. You will explore how these different corset structures are developed and how specialist patternmaking methods can be applied to future garments and costume projects.
